1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and accessing or using the JMeetups platform ("Service"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you may not use our Service. JMeetups is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and respectful dating platform for members of the Jewish community.

2. Eligibility

By using JMeetups, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
  • You identify as a member of the Jewish community or are interested in connecting with Jewish individuals
  • You have not been convicted of any felony or sex crime that would prevent you from legally using this Service
  • Your account information is accurate, complete, and truthful
  • You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

3. Account Registration and Responsibilities

When you register for JMeetups, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and password
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or breach of your account
  • All activity that occurs under your account, whether authorized by you or not
  • Logging out of your account when using shared devices

JMeetups reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if we believe your information is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use JMeetups for any of the following purposes:

  • Harassment or Abuse: Sending threatening, harassing, defamatory, abusive, or hateful messages to other users
  • Fake Profiles: Creating multiple accounts, impersonating others, or misrepresenting your identity or appearance
  • Commercial Activity: Using the Service for business purposes, promotional campaigns, spam, or commercial solicitation
  • Illegal Activity: Engaging in any activity that violates local, state, or federal laws
  • Fraud or Deception: Attempting to mislead users or steal personal information for fraudulent purposes
  • Sexual Exploitation: Sharing explicit images without consent or soliciting sexual services
  • Data Scraping: Accessing our platform through automated means to extract user data
  • Malicious Code: Attempting to transmit viruses, malware, or any code that may damage the Service

5. Content Guidelines

Profile Information and Photos must comply with the following requirements:

  • Profile Photos: You must use recent photos of yourself. Photos must be appropriate, clear, and show your face. Photos that are heavily filtered, obscured, or do not represent your current appearance may result in profile suspension
  • Respectful Content: Do not include offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate content in your profile or messages
  • No Explicit Material: Nude or sexually explicit photos are strictly prohibited and will result in account termination
  • Third-Party Content: Do not use photos, names, or information of others without their explicit permission
  • Platform Logos: Do not use JMeetups logos or branding in your profile

6. Messaging and Conduct

When communicating with other users, you agree to:

  • Treat all members with respect and dignity
  • Not use messages for harassment, threats, or abusive language
  • Not solicit money, personal financial information, or sensitive data from other users
  • Not attempt to direct users off-platform to complete financial transactions or provide personal information
  • Not spam other users with repeated unwanted messages
  • Respect user preferences and unmatching requests

JMeetups is not responsible for the conduct of individual users. If you experience harassment or inappropriate behavior, please report the user immediately through our reporting system.

7. Profile Approval and Verification

JMeetups uses a profile approval process to maintain the safety and integrity of our community. Your profile will be reviewed by our moderation team before appearing to other users. We may request additional verification or information from you during this process. Profiles that do not comply with our content guidelines will be rejected, and you will be notified of the reason. You may resubmit your profile with revised information.

8. Account Suspension and Termination

JMeetups reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if we determine that you:

  • Have violated any provision of these Terms of Service
  • Have engaged in harassment, threats, or abusive behavior toward other users
  • Have provided false or fraudulent information
  • Have engaged in illegal activity
  • Have repeatedly violated community guidelines despite warnings
  • Are banned from using the Service per our policies

Upon termination, your account will be deleted, and you will no longer have access to the Service. JMeetups will not be liable for any damages resulting from account suspension or termination.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

JMeetups and its content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to all information, software, text, displays, images, video, and audio) are owned by JMeetups, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain all rights to any content you create and upload to JMeetups. By uploading content to the Service, you grant JMeetups a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute such content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or exploit any part of JMeetups or its content without our prior written permission.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

AS IS BASIS: JMeetups is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, JMeetups disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
  • Warranty that defects in the Service will be corrected
  • Warranty that the Service is free from viruses or malicious code

NONPROFIT STATUS: JMeetups is a nonprofit organization. We are not responsible for:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of any user information or profiles
  • The conduct, behavior, or communications of individual users
  • Any relationships, conflicts, or disputes between users that arise from using the Service
  • Any loss of data, privacy breaches, or security incidents beyond our reasonable control
  • Any interactions, meetings, or transactions that occur between users outside of the platform

LIMITATION OF DAMAGES: In no event shall JMeetups, its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or reputation, arising from your use of the Service, even if JMeetups has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Your exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using the Service.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless JMeetups and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms of Service
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Any content you submit or upload to the Service
  • Any claim that your content infringes on the rights of third parties
  • Your conduct or actions toward other users

The Service may contain links to third-party websites that are not operated by JMeetups. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party websites. Your use of third-party websites is governed by their terms and conditions and privacy policies. We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party website before providing personal information.

13. Changes to Terms of Service

JMeetups may update these Terms of Service from time to time at our sole discretion. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on our website or by sending you an email notification. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must discontinue use of the Service.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in the jurisdiction where JMeetups is incorporated, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and JMeetups regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, understandings, and negotiations.
